Styling Thin Hair: Volumizing Techniques with Clips
Thin or fine hair presents unique styling challenges, but with the right techniques, our claw clips can help create the appearance of fuller, more voluminous hair.
Crown Placement: Position our 3-inch square clip at the crown of your head rather than at the back. This creates height where you need it most and gives the illusion of thicker hair.
Gentle Teasing: Before securing with a clip, lightly tease the roots at the crown for added volume. Our square clip will hold this teased section securely without flattening it.
Twist and Lift: Instead of simply gathering hair straight back, twist it while lifting upward before securing with the clip. This creates natural volume at the roots.
Sectional Styling: For very fine hair, try clipping just the top section up, leaving the bottom layers down. This layered look creates the appearance of thicker hair while still keeping it off your face.
Clip Positioning: Angle the clip slightly upward rather than parallel to the ground. This subtle change creates more lift at the roots for a volumizing effect.
Both our rounded and square clips work well for thin hair, but the square clip often provides a bit more grip for slippery fine strands.
